About Us

The Institute for Instructional Research and Practice (IIRP) and the Institute for At-Risk Infants, Children, Youth, and Their Families (ARI) are two institutes operated within the University of South Florida’s College of Education. Created in the 1980s to pursue compatible missions through efficient and shared operations, the institutes continue to evolve as we address advances in educational strategies, technology, and the needs of our constituents.

The institutes are funded through numerous mechanisms, including grants and contracts. We work with federal, state, and local agencies as well as nongovernmental and community organizations. Our work touches the lives of learners of all ages, throughout Florida, the nation, and internationally.
